Palm Beach, Fla. (Jan. 12, 2023) – Margaritaville at Sea, the floating island vacation, has partnered with fun and fast-growing New York-based Tipsy Scoop, adding a variety of cocktail-inspired, liquor-infused ice cream and other frozen treats to the ship’s food and beverage offerings. Now, in addition to fan favorite tropical drinks, passengers (21 years of age and older) on the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise can chill out with five flavors of Tipsy Scoop frozen specialties, including two inspired by and created exclusively for Margaritaville at Sea: Blue Margarita sorbet, and Bahama Mama ice cream, both infused with Margaritaville Spirits liquors. The partnership marks the first offshore offering for Tipsy Scoop.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Tipsy Scoop and serve up this unique new signature amenity for our guests. It’s a first for the cruise industry and the perfect blending of two popular brands that share a fun, refreshing approach to life,” said Kevin Sheehan, Jr. President and CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. “Guests know our amazing bartenders always have booze in the blender, but these new options blend the magic of Tipsy Scoop’s artisanal, hand-crafted ice cream with the mastery of a perfectly mixed cocktail for next level fun with an island vibe.”
Made with local and seasonal ingredients in New York City, Tipsy Scoop’s all-grown-up, cocktail-inspired flavors satisfy dessert and drink cravings at the same time, with an ABV of up to 5%. The two new creations created exclusively for Margaritaville at Sea include:
- Blue Margarita Sorbet – a refreshing blend of Margaritaville Spirits Silver Tequila and blue curaçao, fresh lime juice, and salt
- Bahama Mama Ice Cream – a sweet treat made with fresh orange, Margaritaville Spirits Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, and a touch of grenadine
Starting today, the custom Margaritaville at Sea inspired flavors will be available onboard the cruise line’s maiden vessel, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, at three Tipsy Scoop Barlours in New York, and nationwide via delivery from TipsyScoop.com and GoldBelly.com.
“Whether they’re bundled up in Brooklyn, bronzing in the Bahamas, or somewhere in between, fans of both brands can get in a Margaritaville state of mind with these new tropical treats,” said Amanda Travaglini, Vice President of Marketing for Margaritaville at Sea. “Plus, just for passengers, we’ve created some surprises that showcase Margaritaville Spirits and the combined talents of the Tipsy Scoop team and our Margaritaville at Sea culinary crew.”
In addition to the custom Blue Margarita and Bahama Mama, Margaritaville at Sea will be serving items from Tipsy Scoop’s signature line, along with enhanced milkshakes and two over-the-top sundaes served in specialty branded Margaritaville blender cups. The extravagant sundaes feature scoops of either Blue Margarita Sorbet or Bahama Mama, along with traditional ice cream, a single serving of liquor, and spectacular toppings and edible adornments. Tipsy Scoop will be served onboard in the ship’s main dining room, Fins, at the Margaritaville Coffee Shop, and from a roaming Tipsy Scoop pushcart.
“We’re excited to launch our first offshore Tipsy Scoop experience with our newest partner, Margaritaville at Sea,” said Melissa Tavss, founder and CEO of Tipsy Scoop. “As winter approaches, we’re happy to offer New Yorkers and our fans nationwide a little taste of paradise through our exclusive collaboration with Margaritaville at Sea.”
From Jan. 12, fans of both brands will be able to enjoy the new Blue Margarita and Bahama Mama flavors at any of Tipsy Scoop’s three New York Barlour locations (Manhattan: 217 East 26th St. / Brooklyn: 270 Metropolitan Ave / Long Beach: 891 West Beech St.). To celebrate the partnership, Margaritaville at Sea is giving away a free Bahamas cruise to one lucky customer who registers on social media or signs up in-stores on launch day; winner to be announced on Feb.15, 2023. On Feb. 22 for National Margarita Day, free scoops of these delicious concoctions will be given out to the first 100 customers at each Tipsy Scoop Barlour.
